Flame-X Fire Resistant
Low Smoke Zero Halogen Cables
In the event of fire, a critical requirement is the uninterrupted supply of power for evacuation systems and fire-fighting equipment, also the continuity of electrical signal for fire alarm and emergency lighting systems to ensure a safe evacuation. Our Flame-X 950 fire resistant circuit integrity range of cables, in addition to complying with the requirements of the standards for flame emission, poisonous gases and fumes also provide continuity and integrity of the system in case of fire, when tested for the resistance to fire, water and mechanical damage. These life safety cables are primarily used in: schools, hospitals, tunnels, shopping centres, airports, stadia, theatres and factories.
Our Flame-X 950 product range includes:
Flame-X 950 ‘Enhanced’ Series 2E 300/500V to BS 7629-1 for Enhanced fire alarm & emergency lighting systems
Flame-X 950 ‘Standard’ Series 2 300/500 to BS 7629-1 for Standard fire alarm & emergency lighting systems
Flame-X 950 ‘Enhanced’ Series 6 0,6/1kV power cable to BS 7846-F120 for Enhanced grade power systems
Flame-X 950 ‘Standard’ Series 4 0,6/1kV power cable to BS 7846-F2 for Standard grade power systems
The fire resisting standards requirements include:
- BS 8434 - determining the continuity of operation when subjected to fire, water and mechanical impact
- EN 50200 - the resistance to fire with mechanical impact from 15 up to 120 minutes
- IEC (EN) 60331 - circuit continuity during a fire for a minimum of 180 minutes
- BS 6387 - the resistance to fire (C), water (W) and mechanical impact (Z)
